Sport Climbing, Leading & Anchors 1-Day

Intermediate Level Course: June 23, 2013

Leading is a serious activity. This 1-Day Course teaches you how to properly and safely lead bolted routes.

Skills taught but not limited to:

  • Gear selection.
  • Clipping bolts correctly.
  • Lead belaying and top managed belays.
  • Lead climbing psychology and communication.
  • Dynamics of falling.
  • Anchors.
  • Risk management.
  • Advanced rappelling and lowering.
  • Rope handling.
PREREQUISITES:
Must have prior climbing skills and be able to demonstrate good rope handling and belaying skills.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Rock shoes, harness, helmet, belay device. This gear will be provided with prior arrangement, but bring your own gear if you own it.

Advanced Sport Climbing, Multi-Pitch 1-Day

Intermediate Level Course: July 14, 2013

This 2-Day Course teaches climbers more advanced skills needed while transitioning into the multi-pitch world. Whether you're thinking about climbing classic multi-pitch sport routes worldwide or working into trad climbing, our professional guidance will teach you the skills to move more efficiently and develop your ability to take-on longer routes. Also taught is an introduction to self-rescue in a multi-pitch setting.

Skills taught but not limited to:

  • Gear selection.
  • Clipping bolts correctly
  • Lead belaying and top managed belays.
  • Lead climbing psychology and communication.
  • Dynamics of falling.
  • Anchors
  • Risk management.
  • Advanced rappelling and lowering.
  • Rope handling.
  • Retreat and rescue techniques.
PREREQUISITES:
Solid belaying skills and a proficiency in basic bolted anchor construction. Understanding of all gear, anchor construction and 5.8 climbing skills.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Rock shoes, harness, helmet, belay device. This gear will be provided with prior arrangement, but bring your own gear if you own it.
