Has it been awhile since you’ve taken your AIARE courses? This 1-day field course is built for experienced backcountry travelers who’ve completed AIARE Level 1 or 2 and want to stay current. Refresh your avalanche knowledge, refine your terrain and risk-management skills, and learn today’s best practices, all while putting it into practice in the field with a licensed mountain guide.

Why Take Your AIARE With PPAS?

  • Our AIARE 1 Refresher courses are led by IFMGA/AMGA Ski Guides, ensuring the highest level of professional instruction.
  • PPAS is an American Avalanche Association A3 recognized provider of the AIARE curriculum.
  • We keep our courses small with 6 students to 1 instructor.
  • PPAS was founded at the base of Pikes Peak in 1989 but we guide and teach worldwide.  Join us for AIARE training, then consider traveling with us to other ski and climbing destinations.
