Lake City Ice Climbing

This 2-day climbing “weekend” serves as a refresher and primer for the season. We’ll teach new skills and techniques and make friends along the way!
Lake City is like a quieter version of Ouray, but with the additional comfort of tents with wood burning stoves at all of the bases. You can walk from any lodging in town to the ice park, and the brewery is located right at the edge of the park to celebrate a great day on the ice!

  • Efficient movement is safe movement
  • Belaying fundamentals
  • Rope management
  • Knots
  • Gear selection and use
  • Ice screws and placement on vertical ice
  • Anchors
  • Top roping considerations
  • Leading ice

Client Expectations:
Prior ice climbing experience.

Included:
Climbing with an AMGA Certified Alpine & Rock Guide or IFMGA Mountain Guide. All group climbing and safety equipment. Personal climbing gear can be rented if required.

Not Included:
Transportation, accommodations, food, and guide gratuity.
Must provide own climbing gear. Rental gear is available.
