Has it been awhile since you’ve taken your AIARE courses? This field-based course is a great way to improve your backcountry skills by revisiting and refining your knowledge of avalanche dynamics, managing risk in avalanche terrain, and learning the latest best practices taught in current AIARE programming. This course is ideal for the experienced backcountry traveler who has taken an AIARE Level I or 2 course in the past and is looking to brush up on current avalanche safety practices and the latest in industry protocols and techniques while spending a full day in the field skiing with a licensed mountain guide.
Why Take This Course With Us? This course is led by an IFMGA/AMGA Mountain Guide. We only offer small class sizes with a maximum of 12 students and 2 instructors.

IFMGA/AMGA Mountain Guide course leader, student resources, use of Ortovox transceiver, probe, and shovel. Ortovox avalanche airbag ski packs are also available for free demo with availability.
Skier/Splitboarder Expectations: Completion of AIARE Level I course. Students must be proficient backcountry skiers or riders as we will travel in proximity to and through diverse avalanche terrain. Skiing/snowboarding black runs at the resort is a must.
Required Gear: Alpine Touring/Splitboard setup. Full winter backcountry gear. Snowshoes are not appropriate for this course due to the amount of terrain we will be exploring.
