Monarch Mountain Ski Area Partnership AIARE 1

Join us for this special AIARE 1 course based out of Monarch Mountain Ski Area! All touring and skiing will take place in the backcountry. Monarch Mountain will host us for our classroom sessions as well as provide lift tickets so we can speedily access backcountry terrain on Monarch Pass through Monarch Mountain’s backcountry gates. Expect to spend three days in the field immediately applying the lessons and skills we are learning in the classroom!

• Monarch Pass Field & Classroom Sessions January 12 – 14 (Monday-Wednesday)

This 24-hour course introduces students to managing avalanche hazards in the backcountry. You’ll learn a repeatable process for assessing and managing risk, preparing for and executing backcountry trips, communicating and making decisions in avalanche terrain, and performing rescue techniques if an avalanche occurs.

Students must be able to travel off-trail on ungroomed or unmaintained terrain and bring suitable equipment for snow travel. No other prerequisites are required for this course.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
