The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is home to the biggest rock walls in Colorado.  Always majestic, inspiring, challenging, and above all committing, the climbing here is steep with uncut edges and cracks.  This commitment level is immediately evident when descending into the canyon on foot or by rappelling in to access your chosen route.  Because of the canyon’s wild remoteness and lack of bolting, climbing in “The Black” requires serious planning, the requisite skill, and a positive attitude to prevail.  These are the reasons we love to climb and guide here.

Client Expectations:
Previous multi-pitch trad climbing experience required.  Climbing in the Black Canyon it’s our preference that we’ve climbed with you in the past.  If you are new to us, we will expect a climbing resume for review.

Trip Includes:
Climbing with an AMGA Assistant Rock Guide or higher training such as an IFMGA Mountain Guide. All group climbing and safety equipment. Personal climbing gear can be rented if required.

Not Included:
Transportation, personal climbing gear, clothing, food, and travel/medical insurance.
