Sport Climbing-Leading 1-Day

Safety and technique is the key to having a good day of climbing. If you’re new to outdoor climbing or you’ve been climbing with friends or meet-ups and want to learn how to properly set-up the systems yourself, this course is for you. This 1-Day Course teaches you to properly and safely lead bolted routes. You will learn new systems and techniques for safer and more efficient climbing.  Having prior knowledge of sport anchors, cleaning and rappelling is helpful.

  • Clipping bolts correctly
  • Anchors, building and cleaning safely and efficiently
  • Proper Top Rope set-up and management options
  • Back-up rappel systems
  • Lead belaying and top managed belays
  • Lead belay positioning
  • Lead climbing psychology
  • Dynamics of falling
  • Rappelling and lowering
  • Rope handling

Client expectations:
Must have prior climbing skills and be able to demonstrate good rope handling and belaying skills. Having prior knowledge of sport anchors, cleaning and rappelling is helpful.

Equipment Provided:
Rock shoes, harness, helmet, belay device. This gear will be provided with prior arrangement, but bring your own gear if you own it.
